FAQ

What happens if shea butter is accidentally eaten?

Shea butter is actually used for cooking in some places; nothing will happen if consumed by a baby. It is harmless, but we suggest seeking medical help for advice.

How often should it be applied to a rash?

3 times a day would be enough. Make sure to apply it after a bath.

Can shea butter be mixed with other oils?

Yes! You can if you want. But you should know that shea butter is naturally oily, so adding additional oils should serve a purpose. Don't add oils to your shea butter just because your friend told you to; otherwise, you will end up with an oily mess.

Can shea butter be used by anyone?

Yes! Shea butter is suitable for all skin types.

Should shea butter be refrigerated?

No! There is no need to refrigerate shea butter. It will only get hard & cold.

You want your shea butter soft enough to apply to your skin. Shea butter should be stored like all other skin & hair products. In a cool, dry place away from heat.

However, if you have a larger amount of unrefined shea butter or not going to use your butter for a while, you can store it in the fridge.

Can shea butter be heated?

Yes! But if you are using essential oils or fragrance oils, be cautious.

Use just a few drops at a time. If you do not know what you are doing, then don't attempt it.

Does shea butter clog pores?

Shea butter is naturally non-comedogenic. It will not clog your pores.

How quickly can I get my shea?

How do I Store My Shea Butter?

Store in a cool, dry place for up to 2 years in its original container.

What size are your tubs?

280 g

Why buy unrefined shea?

The refining process makes shea butter lose some of its nutrients. It also adds chemicals that may be harsh for sensitive skin. The refining process is not eco-friendly as well.

What is shea butter used for?

Shea butter has countless uses, but the most popular one is as a natural and safe moisturizer.

Does shea butter smell?

Shea butter has a natural smoky and nutty smell.

What makes some jars of shea butter smell so bad?

Shea butter may develop a sour, vinegar-like smell. This can happen if it's extracted with dirty water or not stored properly. Also, if the shea butternuts were fermented before extraction, the shea butter will have a pungent smell. Our process excludes all these practices, so you don't have to worry about the smell!

How can you tell if shea butter is pure and unrefined?

Pure, unrefined shea butter has an off-white, ivory, or yellowish color. Shea butter that's bright white is likely to be refined. It should have a mild nutty smell, but a strong scent would indicate that an artificial fragrance is added to it.

Is shea butter safe for use around the eyes?

Shea butter is mild enough to be used on the sensitive skin around the eyes.

Does shea butter go rancid?

Unrefined shea butter will not be fit for use 24 months after it's manufactured and may get rancid.

Does shea butter help hair grow thicker?

Yes! Shea butter can be incredibly nourishing for you and your baby's hair. It will help you and your baby's hair grow not only thicker but also quicker!

Can I use Shea butter as a leave-in conditioner?

Yes! Shea butter would make a great leave-in conditioner.

Is shea butter safe for my baby's eczema?
